Professional Development Update

A template for recording DMP (Integral Regression) training has been discussed with Roger and has been passed to Jane May. I recommend that all graduates who are not UKCP registered and are working towards it, request from Jane a conformation of their training, supervision and supervised practice sessions. This can be used at a later time when registering with either the humanistic or transpersonal organisations for UKCP membership.

At the Past Life World Congress in Holland in June 2003 I represented the IRN at a meeting with teachers from the major Regression training organisations in Europe. This included Roger Woolger, Hans TenDam from Holland, and Carolyn Clark, Marion Boon and Trisha Caetano who all deliver training in various European countries. The idea discussed was to standardize the content of Regression training needed for students to work with clients professionally, with a range of optional advanced training modules leading to an internationally recognised qualification in Past Life Regression Therapy. The benefit for IRN therapy graduate members is that they would have a route to continue their professional development by learning from other experts and training organisations that work to common quality standards, knowing that the training would also be professionally recognised. They would pick the type of advanced training relevant to them and decide when they wanted to do it. Students in training would have a faster route to being able to work professionally with clients and building valuable experience prior to taking advanced training. Further information about the progress of this can be found on the website www.earth-netwrk.org. Any IRN members who are teachers or working towards being teachers of Regression Therapy and want to know about being involved with these activities please contact me for further information.

At the Past Life Regression World Congress I discovered that there are several regression organisations similar to the IRN that are either focused on a country or based around a training organisation. Rather than compete with each other it was decided to cooperate and use hyperlinks to network these sites together with so that users could read out articles, research information etc from other organisations. Whilst a policy of private / public access has to be agreed by the organisations with their own members, you will find a link to all these sites on the IRN website www.integralregression.org.uk

Next World Congress
The next world congress will be in Brazil in 2006. Having attended the last one I learnt a lot from the workshops and have built up some great contacts I can recommend this type of event to anyone thinking going to Brazil. Although the costs of accommodation where expensive in the last Congress in Holland, this will not be a problem in Brazil. So start saving now and have a trip of a lifetime!
